This FAQ will help you understand all aspects of the Model ECOWAS Summit, ensuring
they are well-prepared for a transformative experience.

The Model ECOWAS Summit is a simulation of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) where young leaders engage in discussions, develop policies, and simulate decision-making processes to address key regional issues. The summit empowers youth to actively participate in shaping the future of West Africa.

The summit is open to young people aged 18-35 years who are passionate about leadership, diplomacy, and regional development in West Africa.
Participants should be willing to engage in intellectual debates, collaborate with peers, and learn through immersive experiences.

Yes, there is a participation fee. The fee covers meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), accommodation (shared hostel accommodation), certificate of
participation, branded materials, conference materials, and access to summit events, workshops, and networking opportunities etc.

Once your role is assigned, it cannot be changed. If you have any concerns about your assigned role, please contact the Model ECOWAS Summit Commission as early as possible.

The participation fee does not cover your airfare or transportation costs to and from the summit location. Participants are responsible for covering these
expenses.

Unfortunately, the participation fee is non-refundable once paid. If you are unable to attend, please notify the summit team as soon as possible.

You can apply to represent either a Head of State (President) or a delegate. The roles will be assigned based on your application.

Yes, there is a registration deadline. Please check the official website and social media pages for the specific dates and apply early to secure your spot.

You can pay the summit fee via Credit and Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.), bank transfer or mobile money. Further payment details will be provided after your application is accepted. Payment must be completed after receiving the acceptance letter

As a participant, you will engage in discussions, policy development, and collaborative problem-solving on regional issues. You will be assigned to one of the two Technical Commissions: Political, Judicial, and Legal Affairs, Regional Security, and Immigration Commission, or Human Resources, Information, Social, and Cultural Affairs Commission.
